The other big example being used to raise alarms about Twitter’s new direction? The disconnection of tweets from LinkedIn. Okay, show of hands, who loves that LinkedIn tweet integration? Who’s gonna say Twitter sucks for taking away that awesome read-tweets-in-LinkedIn experience?

Glad someone made this point. Very good response to the response to Twitter’s API statement from Anil Dash.

The glasses will send data to the cloud and then use things like Google Latitude to share location, Google Goggles to search images and figure out what is being looked at, and Google Maps to show other things nearby, the Google employee said. “You will be able to check in to locations with your friends through the glasses,” they added.

A Hewlett Packard spokesperson confirmed (on December 15) that “in 2008, HP asked marketing agency Moving Brands to propose new ideas for various elements of HP’s brand identity, including fonts, graphics, and logos.” But now, “HP is one of the world’s most valuable brands and has no plans to adopt the new logo proposed by Moving Brands.  HP did implement some of the other design elements shown in the case study.

That crazy HP logo from a few months ago isn’t actually replacing the old logo.

I think my favorite thing from this article about the crazy floating startup village is the nonchalance about about lasers and undersea internet cables: “A laser could be good, but is susceptible to fog, which is bad in the Bay Area. We’re considering running an undersea cable from ship to shore, but it may be be cost prohibitive. [Blueseed has received estimates of over a million dollars for just the installation, but is still researching permits.]”
